I am in love – and, my God, it’s the greatest thing that can happen to a man.

Find some woman you can respect and love, and love her, and let her love you.
15 June 1912
I am in love – and, my God, it’s the greatest thing that can happen to a man. I tell you, find a woman you can fall in love with. Do it. Let yourself fall in love, if you haven’t done so already. You are wasting your life. How miserable your last letter! Nowadays, men haven’t the courage and the strength to love. You must know that you’re committing slow suicide. Do for the lord’s sake find some woman you can respect and love, and love her, and let her love you. Decide to do it. As you go on, you die. Now decide to live. After all, what is golf to Aylwin? – nothing in the end. He wants life – he wants love. But he is afraid to risk himself. I tried several women – I did it honestly – and now, thank God, I have got a woman I love. You have no idea what it means.

Wow! It isn’t often you hear a man talk like this.
I enjoyed this one.
