Sublime is something you choke on after a shot of tequila

Lude knows every bar, club and gatekeeper at every bar and club

Of course, it’s not really all that simple. Typically when Lude calls me late at night it’s because there’s some party he wants to hit. He’s the kind of guy who thinks sublime is something you choke on after a shot of tequila. Maybe he’s right.

Lude knows every bar, club and gatekeeper at every bar and club. Hollywood has always been mother’s milk to Lude. Mothers tongue. Whatever. Unlike me, he never needs to translate, interpret or learn in LA. He knows. He knows the drinks, the addresses and most important of all he can usually tell the difference between the women who are out to talk and those out to do something a little more interesting which always interests Lude.

Sublime! Synchronistic too. I am just about to take House of Leaves out of library bec of the other brilliant extract on ‘Who has never killed an hour’. Lude, what a lovely name, liquid music, dances on the tongue like a tequila. Love the bold part, all on its own …’sublime is something you choke on after a shot of tequila’. Some people just know how to turn words into knuckle dusters.

    Oh, yeah.

“Knuckle buster” would fit nicely on the same page as “sublime is something you choke on after a shot of tequila.”

“Hit me between the eyes,” also. 🙂

This one really hit me between the eyes.

This phrase really catches the eye, hits you between them as well. Subtle yet charming. I need to check out this book.

Thanks for the laugh. Catching up with email after being away for the week. Don’t drink Tequila… It’s simply that the quote was a great pick-me-up 🙂 in the midst of my deleting.
