I want to make things concrete and real and to break down the illusion.

There’s nothing more offensive to me than watching an actor act with his ego. Some of the old movie stars were terrific, but they romanticized. People chase illusions and these illusions are created by movies. I want to make things concrete and real and to break down the illusion. There’s nothing more ironic or strange or contradictory than life itself. What I try to do is make things as clear and authentic as possible.
