Will Conjugate for Verbs
Sunday is going to be Quote Snack’s pun day, dedicated to spoonerisms, plays on words and the odd freudian slip. What’s a spoonerism and how did Freud get associated with things slippery? We can deal with that later. For now, let’s combine a little shameless self promotion with a big cheer for those who take their verben lernen action to a deeper level and dive into vocabularies “foreign.”
Groovinando to the mondo job of learning a new language involves a lot of use-it-or-lose-it practice, and, let’s face it, there are few things as frustrating, funny and potentially productive as scholastic alpha dogs practicing sub beta conversation skills on each other.
Vive la study group!
Study groups mean meeting someplace, which involves significant schlepping of books, tapes, snacks and willing spirits. If that’s your bag, try out mine. It comes in messenger bag and tote, as well as thongs, mugs and lots more.

Thank you
I’ve had intensive exposure to two “second” languages, both of which I’ve lost but like to joke about, and at times dream of and dread studying again. Great fun. Hard klutzy work.
My daughter likes languages, too. Her two faves were more or less Greek to me. Even so, I loved the years when she’d call out “Ka chan! Ça va?”
I wonder if she remembers me calling her “skookum-chica.” I should ask.
